Pop Chager and Z-tube vs CAI

I want to do an intake upgrade on my 04' G35 coupe and was wondering which is better performance wise to do the Pop charger and z-tube, a stillen high-flow cold air intake, or the AEM CAI.

i have the stillen air box and im wondering the same thing, no one ever speaks of this intake, it was on my car when i got it. The Z tube made it sound nicer but i want to know if the pop charger or the stillen intake it the better short ram intake, and if both or either are better than the cai's

Re: Pop Chager and Z-tube vs CAI

I have the complete Nismo set for the 350Z, and it does sound great, but I've heard a simple Z-tube swap makes it sound just as good. There isn't any good data on CAI power gains for the G, so my guess is that if any gains are to be had, they are quite minimal.

If I had it to do over again, I'd just get the Z-tube.

The stillen intake over all the others performs the best. It has the best heatshield, and best hp/tq ratings.

Ok I made the switch....overall the z tube and popcharger is way louder. Performance wise....i can't really tell, but i do have that gut feeling the CAI out performs the z tube and popcharger.

Re: Pop Chager and Z-tube vs CAI

Im about to install the nismo cai soon. I think any gains would be minimal for both setup, but if the weather gets really hot. I think the cai should have a slight advantage, but the advantage is probably hardly felt anyway. Probably by like 1 hp or even half a hp. Nobody would be able to feel that.

Re: Pop Chager and Z-tube vs CAI

Just my $.02; On my old '03 sedan I had the Stillen HFAB and the Z-tube and it made a noticeable difference in the sound, pickup and overall speed. I think it all boils down to a matter of opinion. I am sure people who have the CAI or NISMO can tell you great things, but this was my experience. So on my new '04 I am getting the same setup.
