Engine temp

Hey everyone - Finally picked up my new toy and have been extremely happy with it so far. 2006 6MT Coupe and had a question with regards to the engine temp:

I can imagine these things run on the hot side but would you say it's normal for the car to have been in the garage for 2 hours and when you come outside the engine is still to hot to touch? Seem a little crazy on the heat retention. It's been warm outside lately but not HOT by any means.

In the morning the car is up to running temp within 2 minutes and I leave the house at 6:15am. The car is noticably warmer inside as well, and that's from sitting all night.

Points:

The garage is fully insulated
The temp gauge hasn't gone past just under 1/2 way up the scale.

yeah, they warm up quick. if your garage is insulated it will help keep the engine warmer too.

It was 63* this morning in vegas at 7AM when I left and temp in the garage was 80*

Thanks.. still freaks me out.

Was playing ball last night and it was probably 6-7C. Car sitting for 3+ hours, didn't wasn't even out of the parking lot before the gauge started rising.

The fenders get hot too. Not only that. hot air seem to "sneak" into the cabin. That's one of the few things I don't like. Can't Nissan design a car that doesn't allow hot air to seep into the cabin?

And we can't recirculate cabin air either w/o having the A/C run.
