How much is a compression and leak down test?
How much is a compression and leak down test?
im buying a g35 that has after market products and im kind of sketched as if he was racing hard or running a turbo and i just want to make sure everything with the car is in good condition.
it has a hks high suction kit intake, dual exhaust system, short shifter, and an upgraded clutch.
ive been told to take the car to infiniti dealer to get a full diagnotstic
i have also been told to get a compression and leak down test.
any other things i should look out for?
or do to make sure the car is not a piece of crap or gonna blow or fail or w.e etc. i just wanna make sure my car is gonna last me a while.
thanks for your time

geez.....just look everything over yourself....why would you pay someone to do a leakdown and/or pressure test? Just get the required tools or go somewhere that has them and do it yourself. It's easy to do. You need to do the cylinder pressure test first then if the pressure difference is more than 15psi between cylinders and/or has less than 142psi cylinder pressure than you need to do a leakdown test to determine exactly what is causeing the problem. More things you need to look for is the transmission gear engagments and stuff like suspension bushings and oil leaks.
