Very informative and good post.
i can tell pretty easily the front bumper is different and if its an aftermarket bumper the hood has 1 "stripe" down the middle and if its an AF hood then headlights are slightly a different shape and i dont think many 03-04 owners are doing whole front end converstions to 2005+

Speaking of the interior, on the dash, it says REV right in the middle. That is revup engine specific correct?
And if you can only see outside of the car, how are you going to see under the hood?

If you can see under the hood that closely, you can see the interior.

Just saying that this give definitive proof....The engine cant lie....and im sorry but popping the hood takes 2 seconds.
As far as I know, no one has successfully put int 05-07 interior in an 03-04. Looking in the car takes 1 second.

And why are you putting Brembos on your 05? Waste of money if you're looking for better performance, but if it's the BBK look you're after, then go for it.

I'm assuming you're referring to sedans only. Because none of this applies to coupes.

^He is talking about Sedans. But what he said wouldn't tell you if it was a revup, those things just distinguish between an 03-04 and 05-06 which I think was his point.

That's how I figured out the block I was buying was the correct one.

I would hope that if someone is buying a car, they would at least know what year it is and tranny it has

But this could be informative to someone who is buying just the engine itself.

I am in the process of hunting a G35 down here in Hawaii, But I have to sell my 05 Nissan Xterra first. Is the revup engine that much better and why, other than the obvious hp increase. Thanks. I have been here and lurking and learning a lot on what to look for when I buy my G35. Ps if anyone wants to buy an Xterra I have a BAD A$$ one I am selling. But I'm in Hawaii and most of you are not and shipping is a pain lol

Edit: I searched and read for many hours today on it and found what I needed. Learned a lot, not only the difference but on everything else. Very knowledgeable site with some great info. I do have some more questions though but I will keep a searching and a learning. I don't even have a G35 yet but I am already have a LARGE to do list when I do find the right one after I sell my Xterra.

Hello everyone I recently bought my 2007 G35 5spd shiftable AT. (still an AT I know). I recently talked to Tony at Motordyne engineering who told me that i have an up-rev motor as well. Not sure if this is true. But here are some pics anyways.

Please re-read this entire thread. No 07 AT has the rev-up (not Uprev) motor and your picture clearly shows a non rev-up motor. Tony would never tell you that yours is a rev-up unless you gave him wrong information.

This is the email I wrote to motordyne engineering:

Subject: Contact from MotorDyne Engineering: Sales: Iso Plenum Spacers

Sales: Iso Plenum Spacers

I own a 2007 G35 coupe AT. Is this an uprev engine? I also wanted to know what temperatures require you to need an Iso plenum spacer cooper? I live in MD and it does snow, but it doesn't get that cold. Will I be alright with getting the spacer without the cooper?

This is Tony's response:

Hi Sean,

If it’s a single intake, yes. If you drive in snowy conditions, I do recommend the copper.

Tony did tell me it was an uprev engine and i was confused because i did read this entire forum, and I know that i do have a single intake system. This is why i posted on this forum to see if this was a mistake. I know I am new to this site but i am not stupid.

What is an uprev engine??

UPREV : Software for tuning VQ engines

REVUP : Updated version of the VQ35DE

UPREV is not REVUP....
