Has Anyone Else Ever Noticed...
Has anyone else noticed that the obnoxious engine pinging (that awful "dragging chain" noise when in the 1200-2500 rpm range) dies down considerably after a fresh 5 quart oil change? If so, we can use that noise as an indication that our engine has burned off about a quart or so and add oil as necessary. Just a thought...
No, luckily mine doesn't burn much oil. Mine pings like a bastard, but I haven't noticed any noises go away after an oil change. It would be hard for me to tell over the regular noises. Most of my noise comes from the transmission and clutch, with the exception of the pinging which in my case is at its worst from 3,500 to 4,500 rpm at WOT.
