Just Did K&N + Z-tube-Have Question?

Just installed my Ztube and K&N filter over my lunch hour at work (DIY forum helped alot!). The K&N filter came with 2 pieces of foam that were supposed to be placed on it somehow. I could not figure it out, so I just skipped that...

Do those foam pieces need to be installed?

Thanks,

g4ian

Foam? I don't remember any foam. Which part number did you get?

With some applications there are gaps. Check yours and make sure there isn't one. If not, you're good to go.

If it dropped into place and is seated in the housing.....you are good to go.
Didn't need them for mine.

Re: Just Did K&N + Z-tube-Have Question?

i heard that a company called green filters makes a better quality product than K&N. it has to do with the filter material and the top piece which doesnt include a rubber piece like KN which can cause probs supposedly. anyone hear abt this?

Haven't heard of green filters, but BMC makes a filter that fits in the stock box. The Italian made BMC filters are used in F1 racing, etc.

Those 2 foam pieces are for the Maxima. Skip them for the G35.
