motor removal help

hi i need to replace a motor in a g35 coupe. how hard is it to remove is there any special tools i will need before i start. i know it will have to be removed from the bottom and i have a lift. it really doesnt look that hard. i already have a new motor.

I can have my engine and tranny out in 4-5hrs, less if I didn't have turbo piping and turbos to deal with. I take the front end off of the car and slide it out the front.

is it easier that way then out the bottom?

Took me about 3-4 hours to pull it out of the front the first time.

Pretty simple really. just a nice metric set of tools and you are golden. There might have been a couple star bits in there a long the way. It's really well put in there.

Take Sylvan's advice, he's done this a number of times. Not sure you can even take it out the bottom.

Yes, front is the way to go. It slides right out.

sounds good thanks for the advice. looking at the pics once the front is off looks like there is a lot of room

Did you just pull the AC compressor off to the side? You have to recharge the system if you do it that way right?

My friend replaced his engine and I helped a bit. Pulled the hood and then pulled it straight out the top after disconnected the trans. Pretty easy as well. Just take your time.
