I think you have rasp and drone mixed up. Rasp would be more evident out back. I'd suggest a different y pipe.

I am thinking of the replacing the y pipe but first i will change the test pipes. I'm waiting on a feedback on Top Speed HFC to see if they can eliminate the noise because they are pretty cheap. If i get them and the noise is still there, i will buy a new y-pipe. Any suggestion on which to buy?

Turns out the Top speed HFC weren't even cats, just test pipes. So looks like I've come up with my only solution. I will replace test pipes and y-pipe. I'm going with ART test pipes and not sure what kind of y pipe. I know I'm going to get popped (money wise) with the ART pipes but at least i know they'll never have to be changed. What Y-pipe do you guys think is the best choice? Also if anyone out there has an aftermarket exhaust (not true dual though) with test pipes and doesn't have this rattle in the y pipe, please post. I want to know what kind of set up doesn't have this issue.

I just checked out the pricing- DAMM!! It's a $500 y-pipe, that's crazy. If i purchase this with the ART Pipes, that's about $1000 for test pipes and a y-pipe. Why are they so over priced!!!!

True, but is $700 really worth the extra, idk 10 hp(not quite sure how much more the Motordyne gives). Comparing this to my current install which is about $300 for both test pipes and y pipe, and to me this is enough power. Not arguing but its aggravating that there is no cure to this stupid rattle noise in the y pipe flex pipes. Some people have it and some don't. I'm positive that of those that don't, someone has a setup that doesn't include ART's and/or XYZ. I'm just waiting for the right answer- please if you know what parts to get to get rid of this noise, post up b/c it would be really helpful.

the "rattle snake" like sound is definitely your test pipes. its normal for HFC and test pipes to do that (from what i've heard).

Ahh, the sound you are getting is the infamous metal rattle sound that is associated with test pipes and some HFC's.

I thought it was the test pipes at first, but it went away when I added an x-pipe to my exhaust system.

Is this the sound you are getting?

Ya, that's it exactly. So an x pipe will rid the noise? Where can you get an x pipe. What brand makes them? I seen magnaflow only.

Yes how do we get rid of that sound. I have Megan Resonated test pipes and hr y pipe. Will heat wrap help? I see you said a x pipe but I have stock exhaust. Can I even put in a x pipe? Also I noticed the rattle sound was after letting of the gas. My rattle noise is when i hammer the gas or I'm at higher rpms.
