DTC P0605 (Internal Control ROM Error)
DTC P0605 (Internal Control ROM Error)
I had to replace my old ECU due to I had a ROM error on my ECU and nothing I could do would get rid of it, sucks but more of a problem then I thought.
I put the new ECU in and there are two different scenarios after install and ECU reset procedure.
1. Turn car on to ACC and check for CEL. Code P0605 will appear but can be cleared. Will not come back. Until the next scenario.
2. Sometimes I will turn the car on to ACC and the code will not come up at all. However, after starting up the car I will run the codes and P0605 will appear and I can clear it but upon restarting the engine again the code will reappear.
Now I know the electrical field to an extent but not in full. Would a short be causing this? I mean I guess it is possible that if there is a short no matter how many different ECU's I try it will keep messing them up but it's making me scratch my head a bit.
I had a new engine harness replaced before installing the new ECU.
Besides a short does anyone know of a reason this code would still exist with the install of a new ECU?
