HELP oil burning and smoke

My cousin has an 04 auto coupe and just recently added megan test pipes. Now the car is burning alot of oil and randomly shoots out large amounts of smoke. I told him to try to put the tp back to stock but the shop said that would f the motor up even more due to all the smoke. Any idea of whats going on or suggestions would be awesome. I also rememer hearing about an oil consumption problem when purchasing my hfc but couldnt find anything that was more indepth. Thanks in advance.

Change in back pressure should not affect the car with an oil consumption issue. Things that can cause oil consumption to list a few are:

Bad/Worn Rings
Clogged PCV Valve
Valve Stem Seals and Guides
Damaged/Worn Bearings (Main,Rod,Cam etc...)
Front and Rear Main Seals
The list goes on...

A couple things you can try for a basic start to try and diagnose your issue are:

1. Take it in for an oil consumption test.

2. Check PCV Valve is Clogged

3. Compression Test

4. EGR system Check.

There are others but these are pretty easy basic ones.

I would try these steps and see where you are at just to get a start.

How many miles are on the car? Any other modifications? How is the car driven (Hard, Babied etc..?)

This is a noob question and I've seen it so many times but no one has ever explained it. What and where is the PVC valve on a G?

It is located on the passenger side valve cover toward the front of the car. You will have to take the engine cover off. Then you will see a hose that attaches to a metal tube that goes into the front of your plenum. Follow that tube back to the valve cover and that is your PCV valve. Just get a wrench and it will screw out after you take off the hose.
