transmission problem, engine wotn start

Hello,

I'm new here, I have a 2004 g35 coupe with 90k miles. I was having transmission problems, like delays in shifting, start on 3rd gear and not shift, it was messed up. Last night AT check came on and the "D" dissapeared from the board, i stepped on a side of the road and turn off the car adn when I tried to restart it again it didn't. I'm pretty sure it is a tranny problem and it might be an electrical problem. I have the car on a shop already. Is it possible that because of any tranny failure or tranny module would block the car from star? Have anyone had this problem before? Any suggestion will be apreciated, thanks.

It can be some sensor that is not working. Prevents any damage to anything else.

Transmission errors will not prevent the engine from starting.

You need to have the codes read and find out what they are. There are likely more things going on then you realize.

Sounds like you either need a new transmission or a new valve body(bad solenoids).

I took it to a shop, and the transmission was almost empty on fluid, so the TCM (transmission control module) sends an error and that prevents the car from starting up to prevent any further damage, now the transmission has the right fluid amount, the leak have been fixed but they had to do a bypass to the module in order for the car to star because the TCM has to be reset. They said the dealer is the only one that does that, is there any other way? Thanks, for your help guys.
