Ok, so I decided to play it safe and go with Platinums.

IDK though, you guys think 122,000 miles was enough? I think I could have got another 50,000 out of them, they look fine to me:

OEM = NGK.

NGK Laser Platinum's are the same thing Nissan puts in the motor. (in fact, I even double checked the model# that's printed on the old plugs.

So far so good, but I'm only halfway done.

I did exactly like DaveB said.

^You should only run 1 step cooler if you're running FI, a built N/A, or NO2

it says in the owners manual you can run one step colder if you; a) live in a year round warm climate or b) normally drive in the upper RPM range

^Really? I did not know that! (kinda the entire point of this thread was to find out stuff like that)

Well, I meet both those requirements, but oh-well.

I do end up driving the car on some really cold nights (yes, it can get in the teens in North FL)

Glad to see the poll is producing such clear-cut, definitive answers

OK, somewhat related question:

About to help my cousin change the plugs on his 350Z, and the way he's building it, 1 step colder will be the way to go.
What are the part numbers for one step colder in Platinum and Iridium?

I've had Iridium NGKs in my engine for the last 60K miles. They've been great. Almost time to swap again.
