help. what is this

does anyone know what the hose is that goes from the left red arrow to the right red arrow? marcus took his out. and if its not important and i can pass smog i would like to take mine off as well.

yep, brake booster vacuum line. you can remove it and get vacuum by either 1) teeing off the evap vacuum line behind the plenum or 2) tapping the plenum somewhere inconspicuous. that vacuum line has a 1-way check valve in it so you'll want to keep it. a good spot for it is in the brake compartment...just hook it up where the existing hardline ends.
