The hiccups and "bumps" you are hearing are present in every car. You just don't hear them because the stock mufflers and exhaust system quiets them so you can't hear them. It's not until you open your exhaust flow up with a straight-thru muffler that you can hear those burbles and pops. It is perfectly normal.

Re: 9500 miles on the RT Cats and...

i have had kinetix cats installed for a few weeks and i also noticed a smell tonight....

i had the car running while i was working on some stuff on the interior, and when i walked past the back of the car i got the distinct smell of what i thought was unburned fuel. no load on the engine at all, just idling for like 1/2 hour.

is it possible with Ztube/Popcharger and cats i am running overly rich? my tailpipes get absolutely disgustingly black also. i can also hear little hiccups and "bumps" when i listen to the exhaust

Re: 9500 miles on the RT Cats and...

ive had mine for about 6000 miles. I currently do have, and have always had, the "rasp". Ai least that's what I would describe it as. WHen I put my plenum on, I noticed even more rasp, not less.

I'm not concerned however, as I've had them off several times and the substrate seems to be in good order.

I should also mention that I drive the HELL of of the car, 22K and counting at just under 12 months...and the 6K on those cats have been the hardest driving yet (track days, drift days, canyon runs and road trips).

As for TS, I feel bad for you guys who have to mail it in. I have been there several times and I like them all quite a bit. According to Danny at TS, the comment on more fuel at the top end is correct. FOr the RT cats (with all of my other mods) he only added a little furl at the very top end and then retarded my timings a bit (not from stock, from the previous setting for exhaust, intake, etc...).
