DIY VQ35HR/VQ37VHR thermostat replacement on VQ35DE

The coolant caps I am using to bypass coolant are finally starting to show their age... about 4 months. It's no longer safe to run the car with them for much longer so I started today with replacing the thermostat.

Procedure took less than 15min total. I didn't even have to bleed the air out. Just topped it off and used my left hand palm to push on the radiator inlet and squeeze the bottom radiator hose and that pushed the air bubbles out into the overflow tank.

Nismo makes one but it doesn't make a difference in bringing temps down. All it does is open at a lower temp so it opens sooner.

Correct, the HR t-stat does not have the fitting for the DE oil warmer, thus bypassing it.
