My friends tensioner on his VW jetta makes a little chatter to, but it does it all the time.

I don't get why this would happen to my car with 63k though..

It just happens. It's not a major issue. Like I said, it's a somewhat common issue with VQ motors and I've read of numerous accounts of tensioner noise on VQ35s in Gs, Zs, Maximas, and Altimas.

 

Well, I won't worry about it then. it goes away as quickly as it comes.

 

my 03 5AT did the same thing... Tried several different filters and they all did it... However my 04 6MT does not do it.

I have ran Mobil 1 in both of them.

 

I am the technical manager at Fram. I am responding to you because
you seem to be shouting the loudest. FRAM does not make Nissan oil filters. We do make Honda and Subaru filters and many more. The study you refer to was done with no science or filter testing involved over 15 years ago by a fan of Chysler K cars. Not an engineer and no filter testing at all. The statement, the antidrainback valve seals against cardboard proves the person conducting the "study" doesnt even understand how a filter works. He makes statements that are merely his opinions and he has zero proof of any of the statements he makes about our filters, just internet tribal knowledge. If your spending for K+N or Mobil1, you could buy a Fram Extended Guard filter, it has a silicone antidrainback valve, stainless steel screen backed full two ply synthetic media and is the only filter gaurenteed by the manufcaturer for 10 k oil changes when used with synthetic oil.
