Dont really know how to explain this, but when the car hasnt been driven in a few hours, from a stop (more so if I have come to a more abbrupt stop) the transmission/diff(somethinng) doesnt catch right away, the motor revs and then it lurches when it catches... after warming the car up for a while, the problem goes away.....

 

manual or 5at? I noticed the same thing in my 5at but its more user error i feel. Ill shift at say 5K then let off the gas going into second. Its like a 1 second delay but i believe the tranny is thinking about what RPM to match at. when i straight up floor it and shift to delay really.

or are you talking about when you come to a almost complete stop, then press the gas a little it kinda jumps like the gear is falling into place?

i Have the exact same problem 5At 07 coup

 

I have a similar issue on my Sedan. Slight slippage from the transmission when taking off from a dead stop when it is cold. Goes away when warmed up. Also some slippage when downshifting from almost a complete stop. I had the fluid flushed and it didn't seem to help. If I take it to the dealer, the car will be warmed up and it won't be apparent. I guess I will have to let them keep it overnight??

 

Sounds to me like shift lag - nothing irregular.

 

No, that's not it at all.

 

Mine does it too, has done it for years. You just have to be gentle when it's still cold/hasn't warmed up, and it won't do it. Only a problem right after start-up during the winter/really cold temps, only does it every once in a while in those conditions.

 

Anyone else? Anyonw know of a solutuion? This is embarassing to say the least.

Ok i have a 5at. I work w transmissions all day 6 days a week. So here is a couple of things I need before I can answer more.

A any slip or vdc light when the slippage occurs ??
B have any of u cheecked ur fluid level in neutral yes not park neutral koeo ? That includes drain n fills w the heater on to expand fluid by heating the block which is connected to ....Yup ur transmission.
C if neither condition is this lastly check ur coolant level. The rad has been known for a FACT to pinhole above the trans cooler located at the bottom of the radiator allowing coolant into ur trans which can cause friction plates to become unglued and we all know water and electrical shift solenoids don't mix.

Now two things. Once ur trans warms up it isn't reading. It's in closed loop. once warm ...It's reading shift solenoids vehicle speed rpm and mainline pressure. If the mainline is low due to low fluid once warmed up the fluid expands and as well the tcm raises mainline pressure to compensate.
It can also be a one way valve in the 1-2 shift which is the primary flow directing valve as well. Your worm holes for visual reference wouldn't have a circuit leak or the slippage would be upward not downward I.ur shift pattern.
Answer a b c and I can diagnose a lot better once canceling out these variables -
