2004 vs 2007+ engine

So I bought a used motor to replace my Oil consuming 2004 sedan motor.

I drove over 4 hours to pick it up and since it was advertised as an 05 DE. well it turns out that the motor may end up being a newer motor and will not work with my 2004 sedan.

Since I only need the internal I was wondering if anyone has done a swap of this kind...use the bottom portion of the engine while switching out the heads of my 2004. the new motor has 2 sensors in the front while mine does not or is this even possible?

I may just have to end up selling the new motor to recoup at least the cost while taking a hit on the money spent to bring it back home.

I will try and do a VIN search to determine what exactly it is that I bought and will post pics later.

Thanks for your help

make seller refund money - they misrepresented that they were selling.

I picked it up in VEGAS.

We didn't check much last night because I needed to get to bed..will check tonight then decide if it will go up on CL.

The AD was 2005DE motor from a an auto coupe..he was to us it for a 240. I showed up got the motor in the car and met with friends and didn't look back until I got to R&J last night

That is a revup motor, it did come in the 2005 coupes but not the autos, the manuals. So where it came from is wrong it is a 2005 motor. Swap the heads and you'll be fine.

So the only difference is the heads..just switch them out and what about the 2 sensors in the front?

looks like an HR motor, Use it to rebuilt your motors. They hold better power, internals are beefier.

It's a rev up, not an HR. you can use the bottom end, but this motor prob has oil consumption. Make the seller refund your money and take it back. It is not from an auto, and they were wrong on the year.
