I have a 2004 G35 Sedan Automatic.

Yea tell me about it. My extended warranty just expired so i feel like they are hitting me extra hard. Yea i wasnt planning on doing any work myself, but having a good mechanic do the water pump and throttle body cleaning. Although i am still nervous about the throttle body.

I actually just called the dealer today to complain because they also stated my suspension compression rod bushings are cracked. Which i know is common problem on the G. but when i complained about it two oil changes ago and opted for the 90,000 mile service to make sure the car was in tiptop shape right before my extened warranty expired, they didnt find the problem. But go in for a routin oil change and what do you know, the bushings are cracked. Seemed really shady to me.

Anyone know if the Bushings are hard to replace?

they wont be trying to hit you harder because your extended expired. if its an aftermarket one, they usually will quote high because most warranty companys will screw techs on times.

Just because the comp rod bushings are cracked, doesnt always mean they make noise, conversely some comp rods squeak like crazy but look fine.

the biggest pita about it is getting the comp bushing off of the stud. they corrode on and have to be torched off. are you awd or rwd?

yea i guess, the timing of it all just rubbed me the wrong way. Its RWD. I need to find a good mechanic on the southern NJ area that has high expertise working on Infiniti cars, as i dont have the knowledge or equipment do do any DIY.

My question: should i also replace the timing chain, since i am in the process of replacing the water pump? I've heard its good practice to do so.
Changing water pump was not difficult DIY for me. I was told from taxi drivers Nissan's timing chain would last for 300,000miles (500,000km). My chain looked like brand new at 110k miles. So I believe them.

My Question: First of all i think the dealer is ridiculous for telling me to replace the throttle bodies which would cost around $600, as opposed to just cleaning.
I would not replace it without any scientific evidences. I would check the followings:

1) Check and clean a small hole in the throttle body.
2) Check PCV valve
3) Do "Idle Air Volume Learning"

WTF is the idle air volume learning? emmm........

1) Turn ignition switch ON, then wait 2 sec or more. (Don't start engine)
2) Turn ignition switch OFF, then wait 10 sec or more.
3) Turn ignition switch ON, then wait 2 sec or more.
4) Turn ignition switch OFF, then wait 10 sec or more.
5) Turn ignition switch ON.
6) Turn ignition switch OFF, then wait 10 sec.
7) Start engine. Drive car for more than 10 minutes to warm it up to normal temperature.
8) Stop car. Do not turn off engine.
9) Air con = off, head lights = off, window defogger = off, gear = parking
10) Turn ignition switch OFF, then wait 10 sec or more.
11) Turn iginition switch ON, then wait 3 sec. (Don't start engine)
12) Do the following within 5 secs. (Hurry!)
=> Fully press the accel pedal -> Release -> Press -> Release -> Press -> Release -> Press -> Release -> Press -> Release.
13) Wait 7 sec.
14) Fully press the accel pedal and wait 20 sec.
15) MIL light stop blinking and turned on.
16) Fully release the accel pedal within 3 sec after MIL turned on.
17) Start engine.
18) Wait 20 sec.
19) Press accel pedal a little and release. Is the idle speed normal?
