Question Started out replacing clutch...Suggestions please...

So, I need some advice. I started out this whole situation when my JWT clutch finally started slipping after 6 years of life on boost. I ordered a JWT clutch and friction plate for my JWT flywheel. I also ordered a new pivot ball, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and rear main seal. That was all I had intended to do....however.......

Now it has taken on a life of its own. I stripped most of the APS Single Turbo kit and will be replacing all the studs and bolts and probably having the manifolds, crossover pipe, and y-pipe ceramic coated. I have stripped the top of the motor and will be replacing the valve covers, VC gaskets, and spark plugs.

So, i need some suggestions of what to do while I have so much of the car apart. I was thinking of having the plenum (upper and lower) ported, polished, and port matched. Think it's worth it or should I just order an aftermarket one? Which one? Keep in mind, I am kind of on a budget, so I can't drop over about $1200 more (or so).

Thanks everyone.

unless you slipchuck the rear main seal you will have to remove the oil pan to replace it successfully. get the exhaust components coated isnt a bad move, surely some port work on the plenums wont hurt, do you have a spacer? if not, get one. for what all you are buying, surely ur pushing your $1200 budget already.....

Thanks for the info. I should have been clearer in my post. I have about $1200 to spend other than the things I listed (clutch, RMS, exhaust coat, VCs). I wanted to make sure there wasn't something I could get while everything was apart that would be stupid not to replace or add right now. What benefit does the spacer give? I was thinking of just getting a Kinetix V+ Plenum instead of port/polishing mine. Should I still get a spacer if I get that plenum? Also, I have been told, if I take the VC's off to do gaskets that I need to replace the VCs also....I already budgeted for that, is that the correct way to do it?

the spacer is teh cheapest mod that yields the most gains. im running the MD 5/16" iso-thermal spacer. dont worry bout plenums, you can port/polish your intake manifold/plenums to get a lil more. as far as the VCs go, if the tube seals arent leaking dont worry about it. just put a lil sealant around them when reinstalling the VCs to ensure they wont leak anytime soon.....its what i will be doing to mine that i painted.

plenum spacer + machine/polish the lower intake manifold. Upper is ok, but you can work that a little bit as well.

After you do spacer and port/polish on the lower manifold then you will probably want to tune again for safety. It will add more volume to intake and more even flow if you do it right.
