Re: Serious Horsepower Gain for $800

az cougarman, I ran my stock G35 sedan at both Phoenix strips.

I ran 14.4 @ 99 mph STOCK at firebird and at Speedworld. with the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s I ran a 13.89 @100 mph ONCE and consistently 14.3 @ 99.8 mph. November 6th, I ran 14.3 @ 99 @ firebird consistently with resonator, intake midpipe, K&N filter and 3/16" tread GS-D3's. average 60' was 2.28

See my sig for mods (all minor)

but your 15.2 is NOT a good time to judge it on. when I ran my stock times, it was 95 plus degrees and I still trapped 99 plus mph.

sorry to debunk you but the elevation is only good for about 0.2 seconds.

Re: Serious Horsepower Gain for $800

with my launch, I held the RPM at about 1500 and then slipped the clutch--essentially aggresively driving it out of the hole. This approach seems to work well.

Re: Serious Horsepower Gain for $800

What are you debunking? I made four passes that were all very consistant with the average of the four runs being 15.2 at 92 mph. The fact is not all vehicles are created equal from the factory--some will be faster than others.

As for the effects of altitude, I have personal experience that tells me otherwise. I had a vehicle which ran 14.26 here in Phoenix and ran 13.74 on the coast with no changes done to the vehicle. The 14.26 was in the middle of December so temperature was not a factor.

Re: Serious Horsepower Gain for $800

ok, arguing on internet is retarded so we won't do it.

My opinion is different than yours and I will leave it at that.

I will contact you next time I come down to the Valley (I live in Holbrook) and we will get together. I look forward to getting together with another G owner at the strip where we can play nicely together.

Or, if you make it up to the north country, call me and I will make time for you. PM me for my phone number if you are interested.

My only facts for my above opinion:
Stock I ran 14.4 at 99 mph.

Now (43,000 miles, 18 months later) I run 14.3 @ 98 mph. I have the mods in my sig only.

That is the facts, the rest is opinion.

Too bad you couldn't make the meet Sean, you two could've talked shop! You both have pretty sweet sedans. I'd be interested to see how well Moto's sedan would do as well. Probably best to wait until after the holidays but we'll have another meet sometime soon after and maybe we can organize a track night as well!

All right... One of you is right and one of you is wrong. Who wants to know the truth? If you have more questions... Read the gospil of the "Catatafish" he's the man!!!

If you want to know the Dewpoint and Altimeter Setting, go to a website your local airport (internationl is prefered, and go there just before you head out to the track). If you want to know Altitude at the starting line, call the track. They'll know it for sure.

Re: Serious Horsepower Gain for $800

dude 15.2 is nothing. i went to the track in the ned of summer. temp was 94 degrees, humidity was crazy, and i live in Las Vegas (high altitude). My tire pressure was at 30 PSI. I was running an avg of 15.4 1/4 mi time ALL NIGHT. I have a coupe too! Its AT, but i should still be getting good times. i dunno what is up with my car, but im sure all the adverse factors that night at the track contributed to my time. right now, i would be happy to break the 14 sec range.
