people with aftermarket powersteering tank

for you guys with aftermarket power steering tanks like the one sean sells or the nrg or anything. did you use the stock hoses? or did you have to replace them with something else? i saw the linked thread below over on my350z about installing one and he replaced his with the red hoses but i dont know where to get those at. any help?

You can reuse the stock hoses. They are a very tight fit on the NRG tank. Two things you can do are sand down the nipples a bit and chamfer the inside edges of the oem hoses.

My tank fittings are an exact fit. You use the stock hoses and they mount directly using OEM bolt locations. They also mount from the bottom so they appear to "float". I did that so it would look cleaner without any visible brackets.

my NRG tank doesnt even have nipples on it to hook the hoses to. i have to buy some fittings to screw into the bottom of it and then slide the hoses over that. maybe there is an old version or something?

Sean, will your PS tank work with no modifications on my 05 5AT? I was involved in a 3 way conversation yesterday with snoop and Gabe (Cheif Crappin Squirrel) and there was some debate on whether or not it will w/o me adding a PS cooler.

Can't wait to get them no matter what.

Seans p/s tank is a "Plug & Play" and no need to change the hoses! Red hoses, seriously....

Gary is correct. Sean's PS Tank will work on a 5AT Sedan without a PS cooler.

The issue that has presented itself recently is that NRG has a new version of their PS tank. Gabe and Kenny both have 5AT Sedans and it wouldn't work on their cars. We took the exact tank that didn't work on Gabe's car and put it on a Coupe owner's car and its been working without any issues. The 5AT Sedan doesn't have a PS cooler that is the only reason why I (and a couple others) could think of as to why it wouldn't work on a 5AT Sedan.

Chris (Sn00p) has a 6MT Sedan which does have a PS cooler and he installed an NRG PS tank yesterday. He's testing it this week and will report back but from what I hear it seems to be working fine.

Yeah baby thanks for confirming my suspicions gentlemen. I've been talking to snoop yesterday and today and it seems to be working OK. Started leaking fluid again last night but he thinks he had too much fluid in the tank.

Any hints on how to make my new tank work in relation to getting all the air out of the system once the tanks are swapped??
