If it were me, I wouldn't waste my time rebuilding. I just buy a lower mileage VQ35 and swap it in. It would be cheaper plus rarely do rebuilt motors run without problems.

It's rare, but non-revups do have OC issues.

but if i drop a lower mileage engine in wont i get the same issue down the road vs if i fix it ..it wont happen again?...i mean i got quoted for like 3 and change to machine the block and fix everything with labor and all...i figured if i put in strong piston rings then oem i wont run into this problem..i jus need to find ones that can go on the oem heads

my buddy is runnin JE rings on his stock pistons in the revup.....

and people build their motors cuz they obviously want more power, thats what im doing. i coulda just honed it and re-rung it and been all done in under 1k, but i decided to put some umph in it and coughed up the money.......:/ got bout another stack to drop, so i'll be done with the motor and tune at around 4k.

oh yeah, im doing all the labor myself minus machine work....hence why my build is cheaper than others that pay people to do all the work
