Best Mods for the $
Best Mods for the $
I've owned my 6MT Sedan for about a year now and recently started looking into modifications. So far, I've dropped a
K & N filter into the airbox and added clear corners (pretty simple stuff). Looking to do a little more for horsepower...hoping for 10 - 20 hp. Any advice on best air intakes (intake setups) would be welcome. Also, I'm trying to gain HP while increasing noise as little as possible (family car)!

Most intakes will add a certain amount of noise underhood. HP increases have been debated however since the G has such a well designed intake.
The Z-tube is worthwhile to try since it's relatively inexpensive, but personally, I really didn't feel any difference. The sound is personal preference.
Everyone will have their own list of mods that they felt to be best bang-for-your-buck, depending on your expectations. Tires are one thing that I noticed a big difference on, and of course.....

Re: Best Mods for the $
technosquare ecu - reflash... $499 for sedan, and most likely get out at least the 10hp you're looking for (make sure you get it for the mods you have).
that and some high flow cats (~$350 kinetix or ~$500 crawfordz), and maybe a plenum (~$400ish).
if you want to take a chance on a crank pulley (~$220 w/belts). you will definitely notice a difference.
those are the biggest improvements i've seen. the intake didn't help much, nor did my exhaust (cat-back). if you want to keep it quiet, i'd leave those two alone anyway.
just my opinion. hope this helps.
