Feels like Gas pedal not working?
Feels like Gas pedal not working?
I have an 03 Coupe Automatic, 103,000 miles.. new oil new air filter..
Recently it feels like at random sometimes I press my gas and the car doesnt respond.. Then 5 seconds later it downshifts and goes...
And some days the idle goes down low, like 500, and it feels like a slight miss..
No codes yet.. which direction should I look?

Make sure you didn't accidentally introduce a leak in the intake when you installed the new air filter.
Make sure the MAF sensor is clean and connected securely to the harness. Same goes for the throttle body.
Reset the ECU and do the idle air volume relearn procedure.

So it threw a CEL earlier today.. Car would take no gas at all, then hard downshift and go, so I was thinking the worst..
Went by an auto zone and the pulled code P0135 which they said was both up and downstream o2 sensors, even through the code only says one?
I'm thinking more that its going to be oil buildup in the coilpacks maybe? It's time to swap those out now anyways..
I reset the ECU, cleared the code, then did the Accelator Pedal and Throttle Valve closed procedures. Do those 2 really only deal with key switches on and off to perform those?
I couldnt get the Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning) To work, so Ill go out and try it again shortly...
Car seems to be running alot better now and more responsive and peppier off the gas..
Do you think it's really an 02 or plugs or coil packs maybe?

So the code says 02 sensors but you want to change the coil packs
.
If you have oil on you coil packs it means your valve cover seals are shot so you should replace the valve covers as well.

Yes.. It's a Generic code from the code reader.. probably saying the o2 isnt getting the right readings, running rich etc.. Based on what Ive read on here from similar kinds of issues Changing the plugs and finding the oil in cylinder 6 causes similar issues... And it's time to change the plugs.. I do not feel like the O2 is dead at all... It would be running alot worse if it didnt have an o2 signal...
If you are changing the plugs you will see if the coil pack has oil on it, you would only need to change the coil pack that has oil on it. Like I said that means you need a new valve cover as well it will be a little pricy and take the better part of a day to do it your first time.
