turn off rev flasher

Hello all.

I recently bought a 2005 g35 sedan w/ 6MT. In the center of the instrument cluster lies an indicator that flashes "rev" when I get to 3500rpm. There is no mention of this in the owners manual.

- is this configurable?
- can it be turned off ?

thanks

You can set it at whatever rpm. Don't remember but someone will chime in.

Step 1: press the button that's on the gauge cluster(long thin one) until it cycles "Trip A" "Trip B" and then a number(in your case 3500)
Step 2: once you see 3500 press and hold the same button until the number starts to flash
Step 3: press the button to increase the RPMs, it goes up until 8000 which pretty much "turns it off"
Step 4: drive without stupid flashing light

btw after 8000 it jumps back down to 3000

It is configurable using the push stick on your odometer. Press it until you see 3500 on the lower line of the odometer. Then hold it in until it starts raising up. It rises in 100 rpm incriments and goes back to the beginning if you go past 8000 ish.

thanks guys. I've reset it to 5000 rpm. Speaking of 5000rpm. I have developed a gauge called the greedometer. It is based on 12.5 years and several thousand datapoints. After it redlines and falls through 5000rpm, it confirms the US stock market has seen a secular (long term) top and has begun collapsing. Today it fell to 5400 (from 7800rpm 7 weeks ago). The greedometer warned before the 2000-2003 collapse (47% drop), and 2007-2009 collapse (57% drop). regards
