OverHeat Boiling Airlock.....Vaccum Airlift?
After pulling the radiator to replace my pulleys with lightweight, the last thing I expected was to have problems with my cooling system afar refilling the radiator. I NEVER HAD A COOLING ISSUE PRIOR!
Heres the facts:
- Never a problem prior to radiator remove and replace
- Brand new thermostat
- Waterpump verified to work
- Followed refilling procedures by the book (bleeder valve used)
- Been bleeding air for days, finally no more air to bleed
- Tried parking on inclines in both directions
- did the revving procedure as well
After much research I arrived at the following conclusion:
- I have air trapped in the heads
- The VQ35 engine is notorious for air lock w coolant
****called two Infiniti Dealer techs that verified the only way is with a vacuum refill tool*****
- I ordered the Airlift UView 550000 Airlift Cooling System Leak Checker and Airlock Purge Tool
The car still boils over when it hits about 215 degrees (I use OBDII temp read out)
Any help and advice is appreciated. Thanks so much in advance

Thanks Brandon, I ordered a new cap for good measure (although my current cap is less than a year old).
Mystery solved by the way, I had left a plug in the hose. A dummy move on my part; I'm just soooo happy to have it fixed.
On the plus side, I'm very well educated on the G35 cooling system if anyone has questions.
