Blown Headgasket???

Hi everyone! i need some help.

About a week ago (i posted a thread here..https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cou...ing-issue.html_)

Since then I have replaced my radiator with a new mishimoto which definitely was not a direct drop-in like they say. I have to dremel out a few areas to get it to seat right. Anyways... new radiator in, that fixed the leak.. Now i have two issues.

1. The top radiator hose gets warm and the lower is cold and feels like there is no fluid in there. The a/c blows ice cold air with it set to 90 degrees. I also opened the bleed plug which there was no air or fluid. Could this be the a thermostat issue? or heating core?

2. the bad problem. I started to smell a burning rubber scent coming from the engine. Upon closer look, the white smoke looked like it was coming from the back of the engine, near the firewall. There are no hose leaks and I looked under the car, i saw what looked like fresh oil on the engine near the back. Which looked to have dripped on the exhaust.
could the be a blown head gasket??? The engine sounds fine running wise. Look at the video and pics below.

What do you guys think?

VIDEO (It is hard to see the smoke, but it shows in a few frames)

Thanks for the help!

The pictures posted would be a valve cover leak, you need to replace those valve cover gaskets ASAP. Over time these become hard and leak. It is very dangerous to have oil leaking on to the manifold, this can cause a fire (I have seen this first hand )

The gaskets you need can be found HERE

That would cause the smell you reported, as far as the lower hose still cold, you still have air in the system.
  1. Elevate the front of the car (where radiator cap is highest point in the system), Top off radiator and coolant reservoir
  2. Start the car
  3. Turn the Heat on 90* and fans on high
  4. Let it idle until operating temp is reached
  5. Rev the car to ~3k rpm and hold for 10 secs
  6. Let the car idle for a couple seconds
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 4-5 times
  8. Turn off the car
  9. Place a fan in front of the car and allow it to cool completely down to ambient temp
  10. Check reservoir and Radiator level, add if necessary
  11. Repeat Steps 2-9 until you no longer have to add Coolant and your heat is Hot

*Warning: If temp gauge begins to quickly climb immediately shut the car off, let it cool to ambient temp and check fluids.
**Perform at your own risk, It is highly recommended for a professional familiar with the platform to perform this task.
