I have heard that once you start using synthetic engine oil, you should stick to it for all future oil change?

Is there any truth to that? Or I can pretty much go back and forth with synthetic and regular oil with no problem.

You should stick with synthetic once you decide to go with it. Make sure its a full synthetic, not synthetic blend.

Old wives tale...yes you can switch back and forth but why not just stick with synthetic.
