Best Bang for the Buck Mods (Please help)

This February I'll have about a 1,000 to 1,500 bucks to put into my car. At this time I am looking to add some mods for HP/TQ only. The car is basically bone stock except for my Z-tube and drop-in filter. I was hoping for some noticeable gains. Here what I was thinking

1) 5/16 MD Spacer + Mrev2

2) Exhaust (Magnaflow muffler or another cost effective catback, used wouldn't bother me too much)...i'm on the fence for HFC's but we will see what the majority thinks...

Let me know what you think. All feedback and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Eventually a tune, sways and brake kit will be in order. But I will have to smooth over the ole ball and chain aka the warden aka the wife for round two when that time comes.......

(I have also been on the lookout and now know who the "Big Dawgs" are on this site. I would appreciate your input. I have learned so much from you and I cannot thank you enough. Thanks!!!!!!!)

I'd say get an exhaust. I put down 275whp or so with aluminum z-tube and exhaust (ARK GRiP).

i would buy ART Pipes and the Shockwave V2 exhaust , might be a little more than $1500 total but totally worth it

5/16 Spacer
MREV2
ART Pipes
Tune

3 out of the 4 can find used on the forums if you don't mind used items. That should put you around your budget depending on where you get your tune.

I spent the better part of my day today just reading through hundreds of postings. I am sold on this setup for this coming February.

All Motordyne
MREV2
5/16 Spacer
ART Pipes

That will put me near my budget new or used. But since I am opting out of the exhaust purchase for now I will go all new. If you don't mind what HP/TQ gains should I expect from this combo?

Future Plan:

Phase 2 (February 2013)

Catback Exhaust
Osiris Tune
Sways

if you're deciding to wait until 2013 to get your tune -- after adding breather mods in 2012, I would be watchful of how 'lean' you could be running for a year...

to be conservative, you could buy the spacer, MREV2 & cat back used thru the classifieds and get a tune...it might be within budget.

forget the MREV2 - just get a non rev-up plenum... basically the same thing except Motordyne does some porting... got mine for $80 shipped from Ebay

Get a 5/16 plenum spacer - this will take care of the top end you'll lose going with the non-rev plenum.. got mine used for $140 shipped..

You've already got the Rev-up airbox and Z tube - so thats done...

The only restrictive thing on your exhaust are your cats - get Test Pipes or HFC's (Test Pipes = bang for buck) - I got Megan's resonated because i'm cheap. You may look into something more high end..

May look into the VQ35HR Y pipe - supposedly sounds a little better and adds a bit of torque, but I don't have one.

After that get an Osirus tune for $500 and you should be at least +35HP/TQ to the wheels... for somewhere around $1000

oh oh... instead of cheap *** megan TP's you should for sure look at some MD ART's if you're not 24 and broke like me!

Id have to say nitrous or just save up for FI as all the little mods that cost alot dont do alot. This motor is tuned pretty much to the max and that is stock and adding all the parts mentioned would be better off to save the money till you can go FI.
