My car starts up but i have no acceleration??

So I was driving the other day and out of no where I lost acceleration. I put it in drive and was able to roll to a shopping center. I hooked up a scanner and got code p2135. And also when I start it up I have to give it some gas to start up. So basically when I push down on the pedel I go no where? Any one have an idea on what could be wrong.[LIST]

(P2135) Throttle body or related sensor may have taken a dump.

I received this code (P0300) about a week ago but it was because my throttle body intake tube came loose. It threw a P0300 (multiple misfire code). Once I reconnected the hose and performed an ECU reset all was well. Instead of dying on the road it would die during idle....

You have a failing Throttle Body, very common problem on high mileage VQ35s. This is why Nissan began offering a remanufactured TB replacement (which can be found on our site)

Let me know if I can help with anything

That's crazy! I had that same prob. I thought it was my throttle body. But nope. I thought it was maybe computer. But nope. Notice that my battery was dead one day when I went out side to work on car. So I jumped car, got it running and then pulled positive on battery and the car went dead. Bought a new alternator. Change it and no more problems. It seemed that wasn't giving out enough power to run controls on car. Sounds crazy but that's what it was. Start your car and pull positive on battery and see what happen.

Holy crap, how many miles do you have on your car?

I wonder if the auto's last longer since they are not fluctuated as much.

Yea, I should've mentioned that. However all the times we have experienced this were when the battery was bad enough the car had to be jumped off, so we knew it was low voltage instead of a bad TB. But yes low voltage will cause the same symptoms, I have heard from customers who have had alternators fail that they lost throttle right before all their accessories radio, etc.

Worst thing you can do to an electronically controlled car. Doing that can possibly fry other electronics. That's an old skool troubleshooting technique for old skool cars. There are safer ways to load test an alternator and battery. I suggest doing it the right way.

Read this if you're skeptical.

Lost throttle on the highway earlier today because of the alternator failing. Alternator will be replaced tomorrow. BTW no throttle on the highway is NOT FUN. As an aside, on my first start of the morning my idle was off (slightly higher than normal) so I knew something was up but disregarded it.
