p1136 Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve

I have an 04 coupe and I have checked all around and can't seem to find much info on this code.. I clear it and keeps coming back. I have the turbonetics kit installed and seems my afr's are a lil off while cruising. I never check my CEL because it nevers clears the p1283 code. but when I notice my afr's changing I checked it again and this popped up. Just wondering where this is located so I can get another one ordered. Or if there is a solution to fix this. Thanks

P1136 is Bank 2 Solenoid.

It is located right next to the intake tube on the left and right in front of the oil fill tube underneath the engine cover. I believe it has 3 bolts holding it down. If you need a pic of it to verify let me know.

Before you go replacing it make sure your connection is tight and no wires have been cut.

Another test you can do is on terminal 2 on the connector that plugs into the solenoid (with push tab facing up it is the left terminal) get a voltmeter and turn the car on to acc and put the voltmeter on terminal 2 and to a ground you should have voltage equivalent to your battery voltage.

You can also check terminal 1 connection to the ECU to make sure there is continuity. Let me know if you want to do this, it get a little more involved.

To test the actual solenoid get your voltmeter and hook it up between the two terminals on the solenoid. You are checking resistance and the resistance should read between 7.0-7.5.

If you need to replace the solenoid you can get it from you local dealer I am sure or an online oem website. Make sure you order a gasket for it too.

im checking my cam sensors and im getting 1186 and 1253 ohms .. what should a working sensor read?

i cleaned (opened and drained out the oil) both ivt solenoids. i read somewhere that someone used brake cleaner to clean them. i only had electrical connector cleaner but i didnt want to chance it.
