Engine change in driveway
When I pulled the motor out I pulled it up and out the top and I had a major issue with the steering shaft. (I left the 3" downpipes on the motor) So for install I'm thinking of having the motor and subframe together and just lift it into place (similar to the way it is done with a lift, just on jackstands
As soon as I get my shortblock and I start putting things back together and see how that works.

Well it took IPP 3 months to get the engine to me and I'm finally receiving it this Tuesday. So far I have only taken off all the covers and bumpers. I'm going to start the super charger tomorrow along with draining it. I'm hoping I can just move the condenser to the side and not have to EVAP the system. I think I read somewhere someone moved it to the side and it was fine. I have taken some pics so far. Not sure if I'm going to post them unless others want me to, although I'm taking pictures so the install is done correctly especially with the Vortech SC.
I see. I also see the harbor freight equipment was used like I'm going to be using. But where did you get the mounting brackets from? Although I only see one.
Importpartspro.com. Call Kyle. Tell him Justin Winterhalter referred you.
I do have both of the brackets and I actually got them from work (Infiniti dealership) I took the motor out without them, but OMG was it easier with them.
Nice. Wish I had them. Don't want to spend more than I need to.
So now I need bolts to connect my block to the engine stand. I'm assuming I use the 4 bolt holes under the heads that are originally for the bell housing. I'm also assuming I need them to be 76.2mm (3 in) in thread length since the arms on the stand are 2 in deep and the bolt holes are about 1 in deep. I'm also going to say I believe the bolts are m12-1.75 so any say from people who have put their block on a stand before? That way I only need to make one trip to the store for the bolts.
That's what I wanted to try and do in the first place but I don't remember if they are the right length or not. Thanks though.
They should be fine - all you need is to be able to hold it tight to the engine stand
Both times i have done engine swaps was using a engine hoist without removing the bumper. Worked fine - just gotta get all the bell housing bolts off which can be a pain.

So the new block is in the car and now I'm reattaching all the components. Getting it lined up to the transmission and bolted on was a real hassle. Took 4 hours by myself. Pain in the ***. Overall so far so good.
For all of you who are planning on getting or installing the pathfinder cooling mod be aware modification to the stock piping is required. I found out the hard way but I have the tools to modify it. Also it doesn't have the same bracket mounts for the wiring harness and the coolant temp sensor clashes with the rear cam timing sensor on bank 1. Just so you all know ahead of time.
