Burning oil and loosing coolant

Ok so here's just a quick description if what's going on.

For the past year or so I started loosing a little oil which I noticed after doing oil changes.
It have progressively gotten a little worse I now loose/burn about 2-3 quarts every 5k miles.

Fast forward to about 2 months ago, car overheats and start loosing coolant. Now I'm loosing about a little more than 1/4 gal for a 30 mile drive.
When I full the radiator there is nothing in the water/coolant, doesn't smell funny, nothing.
No smoke or funny smell out of exhaust, thought it might be head gasket but it's weird that I have no signs.
I've looked numerous times and can't find a single leak. It's really weird.

Do you think it could still be the head gasket?
Don't want to open everything up before I have a better guess as to what it could be.

Sounds like an oil consumption problem. The radiator problem could be a few things. If you haven't seen the oil mix with the coolant it's not a head gasket.

shane, if you can, try doing a used oil analysis with Blackstone labs. its a good way to see if there's coolant or high levels of other stuff in your oil. they can turn around the reports in a reasonably short amount of time.

Look up some of my overheating threads perhaps they can point you in the right direction

not 100% with the mixture... But with our VQ's the problem tends to be a bit more than just mix of oil/water. It tends to send pressure into the coolant ports and pushes the coolant out of the reservoir. This is the problem I had.

My boosted b13 SE-R had a blown headgasket and it never smoked or constantly overheated and the oil was fine everytime I checked /changed it and the car ran fine. Never knew it was blown until I pulled the motor to go forged internals.
