high pitched whining when A/C is on

I recently started hearing a high pitched whining that goes with the gas and the gear shifts only when the A/C is on. when it is off it goes away. Someone told me its a grounding issue but sounds like bs

some one chime in. thankss!

That, or the idler pulley. You can use a long screwdriver as a probe, to pinpoint bad bearings. Put the screwdriver point on the compressor closest to the pulley, and the handle against your ear while the car is running. Same thing for the idler, but you can use the fixed bolt in the center up front.

Check each one, even if you think you've found the one with the distinct sound. If it's loud enough to hear in the car, it should stand out.
