no smoke oil consumption

Ok, this is weird. I swear I just lost 1 qt of oil in just 100 miles. Absolutely no smoke, no leaks , but I do get a strong burning smell. No smoke from engine, exhaust or anywhere haven't had it looked at, but i figure I ask u guys first. I live in Hawaii and the island I'm on has no Infiniti specialists only Nissan dealers. I own a 2003 g35 coupe a/t.

If you're using synthetic oil you won't see the blue smoke you're probably thinking of. If you're losing it, there's really only so many places it can go... Have you made sure the drain plug was tight? Any leaks around the valve covers? Install a catch can and see how much is blowing through the PCV valve. Check for pooling around the spark plugs. Get ready to rebuild it.

Nissan charges 30% less for service than Infiniti

There is no reason you can't have service done at Nissan, there 350Zs are just G35s without our back seat. I get most of my service done at Nissan, the service manager used to work for me. They're always glad to see SLICK roll in, gives they're mechanics something cool to look at....Gary

....

Check your lower plenum. Oil tends to get sucked in there. The make shift catch can is a good inexpensive fix for that, but it only prevent oil loss, just oil going where it shouldn't

Did you fill the oil filter w/ oil before installing? That's like 1/4 quart of oil right there. I'd tighten the filter, drain bolt, and top it off and only get worried if you continue to lose oil every 100 miles.

hopefully it was the oil filter problem as mentioned above^^.
I don't get why some people think it's okay to lose oil, that it's natural. as well as coolant.
it's suppose to always be the same amount.
