rod knock, help. 1/27/13

i have a 05 g35 sedan 6mt. it has about 89200 miles and it burns oil.. i recent got rod knock and now its just sitting. i know this car was ufcked..i always made sure my oil level was were it was supposed to be. well i bought my car in july of 2011 with 76k miles. at a used car dealer. The dealer offered warranty, and i bought the 3year/50k the company is AUL Administration. WHAT DO I DO? call my warranty and tell them what? that i hear a knocking and dont know what it is, or tell them straight up its rod knock? im trying to have them give me a new engine!

Someone who had this problem or been in this situation please help me , from on g35 driver to the next

Do not drive or even start up engine. Have it towed to dealer where car/warranty purchased from and let them evaluate.

There were oil consumption issues with earlier model G35's and if oil level allowed to get to low it definately caused some bearing wear issues.

Bearing clearence issues probably did not manifest themselves until later in engine mileage/wear.

It only takes .002 -.005 wear for rod knock to occur. It will rapidly get worse. If you take a rotating mass like a piston/rod aasembly with force from internal explosions several thousand times a minute it doesn't take long for catastrophic failure.

Call your warranty company and ask them if any dealer will do?

^^ agreed

just call the warranty company and tell them you think your engine has a problem and ask where you should take it
