Grounding Kits and " Z tube"

hi

i would just like to ask any of you knowledgable people what grounding kits actually do. hp increase?

and about the 350z tube. i thought it was a cold air intake tube. but i read here that someone suggested to put a z tube in first, then a cold air intake.. i dont know can someone explain please

one other thing.. a "pop charger"?

thanks

Grounding Kit is supposed to ground the car better, making it idle smoother and some people also noticed that w/ gordgee's Grounding Gear that it shifted smoother. As far as a HP increase...i think its too negligible to show up on a dyno, IF in fact it increases HP.

The pop charger is made by Jim wolf or JWT from Jim wolf technologies is basically a ram air intake system aka 'POP charger' for the G. Most people who have this get the Z tube - 'intake from a stock Z' and combine it with the POP charger filter head. Some people go with the Z tube and KN drop in, others go w/ cold air ie NISMO, INJEN, and others just dont do anyting.

do some research and u'll find what u need, in any event iF u do mod the car w/ an aftermarket intake...make sure to wrap ur AC line...again search 'aftermarket intake' and u'll know what i mean

There is a tube that connects your throttle body to your air filter. This tube is removed and replaced with the tube that comes stock on the 350z, hense the "z tube". The Z tube is less restrictive, as it has no sound reduction "baffles".

The pop charger is just a replacement for the stock airbox. Cone filter w/ heat shield.

I don't think a grounding kit will do much of anything noticeable on the G, except in the case of AT where it may smooth out shifting. I definitely think there are some cars (especially older ones) with inferior electrical systems and those can surely benefit from such kits, but the G is a pretty solidly designed and tweeked out car to begin with, and needs very little added to it.

I would however recommend a ztube and K&N, if only for the sweet sound =)

Thanks, that's probably the awesome Zaino shine you are seeing, another product I recommend without hesitation.

Check out the following thread, where I posted a couple pics just after the first coat of Zaino:

I just bought mine at a regular auto parts store, think it was PepBoys. They only had the 2003 G35 part number in their catalog but it's the same filter for '04 and '05 models...

BBB, the term "cold air intake" refers to an intake setup that pulls in air from outside of the engine bay, or air that is not warmed by the hot engine.

Usually it runs down to a wheel well, or in our case, behind the grill located below the headlights.

yea I didn't pay to have it done, the dealer I bought my car from had them on another car and agreed to put them on my car to seal the deal.
