Who power washed my engine compartment?

My '05 just had some paint work on the a driver side doorskin and the same side mirror replaced. In 4.5 years I've owned Ir it's never thrown any code except TPMS each fall at the first cold snap. The clean-up guy said he power washed under the hood during cleanup. 10 minutes later, I drove away from the dealership and as soon as I hit the bottom of the entrance ramp to I-65 here in Nashbille (5 minutes from Nissan USA headquarters) my VDC, SLIP and a Check Engine which showed up as a TPS code about conductivity between A and B happened.
My pedal disengage and the engine shut itself off in about 20 secs. Got a tow back to Crown Fords but before it arrived I tried again and made it about half way back and the same lights and accelteratir bypas, engine shutdown happened.

Original post continued... The Ford tech at the dealership with the bodyshop pulled the TPS code and the say they dried out the engine compartment and let the car sit an hour and on subsequent test drives It drove fine first and failed identically twice. The ford collision manager, Terry worked nine years as a Nissan service mgr. so he is familiar with drive by wire system issues. He has let my vehicle sit through the weekend and is then to send it to Action Nissan for further assessment tomorrow. Any similar experiences or suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Adam

This can happen if its not dry. If you wash the engine bay you must always wait for the water to dry completely. It can cause shorts, get into air intake tract, etc

I would guess that nothing is horribly wrong, but that you just needed it to try more before driving. It might drive fine after a day of sitting.

That is certainly my hope. Gotta say a great big thanks to the detailing 'expert' who pressure washed me out of my ride for two days...
BTW, it's at a Nissan shop today to sort out the issue if it's still there but it didn't act up on the at all on the drive over but that was a very short ride.

Release the ECU connector and check for water there.

Does the car run but when you hit the gas pedal it doesn't accelerate? If so then it's your alternator. Mine went out twice cause it got went from not having the engine splash shield under engine. I had the vdc, slip and brake light up on dash when this happen.
