No way! This tube is standard equipment on the Nissan 350Z. The 350Z is rated with
more HP and TQ than ours.

I think the 05's have a Z tube now so that would make those comments seem ridiculous if nothing else did.

CAn someone take a pic of the 05 engine bay and see if the 2 sound baffles are there as they are in the earlier models? Also has the airbox changed at all?
The first thing I did with my 2005 loner was to check out the engine bay without the engine
cover on. The 2005 G35 Sedan has the same intake tube as the previous models.
The muffler looks the same as well.

Someone else put that bug in my head - or I dreamt it. What about the midpipe on the 05's? Are they now putting the coupe style pipe on the sedan? Sure sounds like it.

That is what I was thinking. Since I have my old OEM muffler sitting on my garage shelf, I
placed it next to the 2005's muffler. I think it is the same. So..with the same intake, same
muffler. what is causing it to sound so agressive? I did not feel like crawling under the sedan,
so I can't answer this one.

I know I've heard that it's the midpipe being changed over in 05 I just haven't verified it personally. Starting more rumours at least!
