Is the Z-tube worth getting?

I was planning to get the Z-tube for the sound and maybe a little high-end hp gain but I just read some posts saying the Z-tube actually loss low-end torque, is it true?

definitely worth the money. i only felt gains when i installed mine, and most people who say they've felt a loss of power combined the z tube with a popcharger.

It's more for the sound then for any HP gains. You may see a few horses, but I doubt you would notice them. I have it installed on my sedan with a K&N filter. The sound is great.

Why does he have to go to those sites for the answer? It's ultimately peoples opinion he is after and there are plenty here.

SLD2000, if you don't get many answers it's because this subject has been discussed to death. People get tired of answering the same question over and over. I suggest using the search and reading through some of the previous posts on this subject.

Quit your trolling

Is this not a G35 forum as well?

Im getting a Z tube just for the sound - I believe the performance increase is negligible
With the stock tube and resonator its pretty muffled but Im hoping the straight tube will bring out a bit more noise

Get it. Stock tube to Z tube alone is fine. All you are doing is removing some "sound baffles", so you'll get more noise, and a remove some airflow restrictions.

The controversy is in changing the filter (pop charger, etc)

i have a z tube paired with a jwt popcharger. in addition to all said above, there is an awsome hissing noise when you hit the throttle!

Not true - there was one guy who claims he saw a dyno that never existed - he's seemingly dissapeared from that thread as he has nothing to show for his assanine comments about a mod that does nothing but add and not subtract power and noise - even if the addition is negligible on the power side. I think the 05's have a Z tube now so that would make those comments seem ridiculous if nothing else did.

CAn someone take a pic of the 05 engine bay and see if the 2 sound baffles are there as they are in the earlier models? Also has the airbox changed at all?

I went down to my local Nissan dealer, They were putting CAI and exhaust on a Z. I ask for the z tube and they gave it to me for free. It sounds great, but I'm not sure I would pay 70 bucks for it.

After debating the Z-tube, pop charger and all out cold air intake for a while,I installed a z-tube and a K&N filter a few months ago and I love it. It sounds beefier and has that classic whine down like ferraris on slow down. I actually feel a little more power also. For the $100 or so it will cost you..well worth it.

Exactly why/how did they just "give" it to you? It costs a bit more than $70.

I was also wondering... since so many people r interested in the Z-tube, why there is no group buy for it?
