I'd spend the money on slicks or a drag school. Mechanically speaking it's going to be tough for only $2k to consistently get under 6.0 to 60.

if you've got a manual, no problem. if you've got an automatic, good luck. that is what everyone is trying. you may want to look into an electric fan conversion ($200-ish, if you have an a/t), ur pulley ($200-ish, risk vs reward), z-tube ($100-ish), ts ecu reflash ($500, if you have a 2004 or earlier). about $1000 could get you there.

The plenum is prob the most effective mod and perhaps the stillen exhaust is better but more $ I believe. I calculated 0-60 based on my timed runs using a formula and I am right at 6 seconds.

maybe he was wondering if he had a 6mt or a 5at casue from his general knowledge he would tell him if sub 6 second times for 2k was a reasonable goal.

If you re-read all of his posts, he adds little if nothing to any of the conversations.

With all of the jabs towards G35's, I doubt he is the person to turn to for advice modding OUR cars.

Care to post any timeslips with your 4-banger Comptech? Probably not.

BACK ON TOPIC: $175 for the plenum spacer, $75 for the Z-tube, $40 for the K+N, ~$100 for the coupe mid-pipe, $350 for high-flow cats, $800 for cat-back exhaust, $200 for the crank pulley: ~$1740 which should leave you enpough to pay for the exhaust and pulley install.

Or you can put on clear corners and tint your windows and roll with the RSX guys.....

If you have a manual you should be getting times below 6 seconds if you know how to drive the car well since a couple of magazines got 60 times in the 5.5-5.7 range. Now with the auto or if you want faster times in an MT I would suggest better tires that are close to the same weight as the standard tires. A good but moderatly priced lsd system, 350Z intake tube, plenium and lastly an ecu and trany software upgrade to make the most out of your new found power. Also if possible puting the car on a diet would help you reach sub-6 second times.

I think before you do anything, the key question you have to ask is, why? Is this for ego or for actual racing? Because if it's just for bragging rights, then you should just tell people that your car is a sub-6 second 0-60 car and be done with it - you're probably pretty close as it is. And are you planning on testing the car before and after to know if you've achieved your goal?

If it's for drag racing, then you can ignore my comments.

THIS IS FOR SURE TO GET YOU UNDER 6:

get a new final drive. it increase your accel in each gear by 10 percent bring us into the M3 gearing. but i think that is for the 6MT, so for an auto, you would have to put the stock 6mt final drive into your AT final drive.

and while you're at it, you might as well get a Nismo LSD package deal.

This is the best advice I've seen in this thread yet assuming the original poster wants to drag race. No need for all these minimal power adder mods if the lone goal is for a faster 0-60. What he needs is good traction from a launch if he wants a good 0-60 ft. and thus a sub 6 second 0-60 mph. Also since he's an auto he can power brake a bit but I wouldn't recommend doing this too often.

But if the original poster is doing it for ego then I like sherwooa's idea.
