I have a 2005 g35x with 125k. It was driving fine on the highway for over 2 hours. I even stopped for 30 minutes in between the hours. I parked back at home went to drive to the store and then she sputters and stalls out right in front of my place. I try and start it and then the same thing. Sometimes she starts even and around 1k rpms but then dies and sputters. I am completely baffled.

Possible issues I am thinking at the moment,
Spark Plugs
Clogged Injector
Clogged filter
Bad pump
or the dreaded lost compression (please god no)

Any ideas? please? help!

You should check the throttle body as well to see if there's any build-up around the butterfly.

 

I am going to have it towed somewhere tomorrow. havent read the codes yet as I dont have a reader. But I do smell fuel after it tries to start then dies coming from the exhaust.

 

but dont stop prodding cause I have heard the horror storries of similar situations and mechanics baffled as well. I am fairly tech savy I will check the intake tomorrow, and see if the TB is turning smoothly. Any other ideas? I dont really want to take the manifold off to check the spark plugs and injectors.

 

I'm going thru the same issue as well. It might stall when ever i come to a stop. The rpm drops completly after a high rev...

 

Check your cam/crank position sensors. Sounds like that's your issue...common problem with Nissan and infiniti
