Blew my motor, need new one, advice please

I have an 05 G35 coupe. I love my car. I've had it for 7 years. I just blew my motor and need a new one. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to buy another vq35, or if I should say skrew it and put a different one in... Maybe an LS1? Ill be able to do most of the work myself and with a friend so labor cost isn't much of an issue. If anyone knows of a good place to get a vq I'll probably just do that. So what do you guys think? Vq35? Ls1? Please give your opinion

How'd the motor blow? Like a chunk outta the block or what? And the obvious answer to your question is ls1

Yeah fat 6inch hole out the side lol... Not exactly sure how it happened. I did a solid pull through my gears and got back to cruising speed and was cruising for a minute... Then Bip bang bip hole in my block lol. It could have been a few different things.

If you can find an LS1 for cheaper or equal to the cost of a VQ then do it. getting another VQ will be easier to install, but up to you.

I've been dreaming of an LS1 G for a while now.
It's the perfect opportunity to do it now, brother. I say go for it.
I mean, you're already in there...

Yeah I really want to do the LS1 swap, I just need some help as to what all u need to buy to make it work and possibly the cost estimate. I've never done a full swap but my brother has but only with a 4g63, and an sr20... Never a vq or LS... Trust me, I want an ls1 lol

LS1 will cost a lot more to do the install because of the extra stuff required. However, if the motor has to come out anyway its not a bad time to do it. VQ can be found for good prices still. I'd probably drop a VQ back in unless you are prepared for the LS swap already.

If not going LS1, maybe take the opportunity to add a hair dryer or two to the new VQ.
