You know the old Question? Injen & water?
I've seen dozens of BMWs come in hydrolocked. and they all have facotry air intake systems. it's all about how fast you go throguh the water and how deep it is. yes insurance will cover replacing an engine. I've got an older 540i right now that's been declared totalled because the engine detonated (2 rods are outside of the block). it sucks, but it happens. good to hear that you didn't damage anything though. new plugs, compression test and an oil change should fix it.
it rains and floods here all the time (san antonio) and I've driven with mine for a year now. just don't drive through standing water. if there's a puddle or anything slow down a lot.and if the water's more than a couple inches deep, creep through it. I'm talking drive-by creeping speed
I think you'll be fine. I was just driving through a (in retrospect) rediculous amount of running water. If I had the choice again, I wouldn't even have considered going down the road I did. The Injen is a great product and I've never worried about it before. And it has rained just as bad before.
