oil spark plugs
oil spark plugs
Hi, all
I have a 04 sedan with 64k, just replaced spark plugs the first time for it and found all 6 have oil on the threads. The closer to the tip, the more oil, and there are some sludge at the end. Tips are clean, though.
There were lots of threads talking about VC leaking but since I don't see oil in the spark plug tube, there should be no gasket leaking.
Then it must come from combustion chamber, bad piston, ring? But my car has never burned oil and run without any noticeable problem. Has been using mobil 1 full synthetic for years.
Any idea about this?

For my experience changing spark plugs, its normal to have some oil on the threads. You need to worry if the electrode is covered though. Now if your coils or tubes are oil covered you got the tube seal problem.
