Please help me, SES light came on with code p1283
I own a 2004 Infiniti G35 Sedan (RWD) and my SES light recently came on and has been bothering me to death, I need to fix it but don't know how. I went to 2 different autocare places (autozone and advance auto parts if it matters) and luckily both gave me the same code p1283. BUT They both gave me completely different answers...one guy said it was an 02 sensor and another said it isn't and that its an "air solenoid" I am convinced it is an 02 sensor after reading through some other people who have experienced some car symptoms that I am having, such as bad mpg and gas mileage.
I am very frustrated as I am not a car guy what so ever and now have to do all the research myself, but at least I got two of the same code. So what I am asking.. p1283. What exactly is it?! And if it is indeed an 02 sensor then I know there are 4 different 02 sensors on my vehicle correct? I don't want to buy all of them when I can just replace whichever one is bad. That is where you guys can hopefully come in and save me!
Any help is appreciated.

There should be two O2 sensors that are easily changed from under the car after your cats. They are also called "downstream" and there primary function is to make sure the other O2 sensors, which are actually A/F sensors (air to fuel) they're known as "upstream" they are before the cats. They are also a major PITA to swap out.
Does your car have any mods? It could be one of the sensors, the MAF, or an intake leak. How's the performance of the car besides the bad gas mileage?
The MAF is easily replaced, but it's a 300 dollar part. I have a brand new one if this what you need I can sell for cheaper.
Sensor 1 bank 2 would be the upstream sensor on the driver's side though for reference. You could try swapping the front sensors to see if the code switches over. But, like I said they are a major PITA to remove! I had really bad gas mileage and was getting a lean condition. Tried swapping/replacing all sensors, bought a new MAF, and it ended up being a nasty vacuum leak. I fixed for 15 dollars...
