What does a pop charger do?

I was looking on everythingg35.com. I came across an item called a pop charger. Just wondering if it was worth buying. I was also wondering if the G-tube was worth buying.

Pop charger is from Jim Wolf Tech. It's a short ram intake. IMHO the stock G-tube and air box are better.

I think you mean a Z-tube. A Z-tube is the intake tube off a 350Z (vs. our G's). The Z's do not have the resonators that our G-tubes have.

Do a search on Z-tube, there will be dozens of thread on these two items.

Forgot to say it makes alot of noise

Not bashing the pop charger, but i'm perfectly satisfied with my Ztube, K&N filter combo...most other users will agree.

I love my stillen air box/z tube combo. If your looking for an intake might want to look up on that.

I've tossed my Stillen for a K&N drop-in. Also replaced Stillen's 5-wire ground kit with Hyper Grounding kit from Grounding Gear. Mucho happy. Sorry for the neg vibe but not happy with Stillen. Oh yeah, it makes noise. Just get a Crawford plenum. Save some $$$. My $0.02

I replaced my Sun Auto kit with the Stillen thinking since it was made for the G35, it'd be better. Wrong-O! The Sun Auto, though it was generic lengths and instructions was constructed much better!

Then I got GroundingGear from Gordgee. Wow, what a difference! Way superior construction to the Stillen, and much better instructions! And considering Gord's 10 wire systems are about the same price as Stillen's 5, there is no comparison, wouldn't you agree? The Stillen kit was pretty shabby. They reminded me more of the junk that I've seen sold on E-Bay.

I also noticed that the GG system made more difference, over either kit, even with the same number of wires! And with the 10-wire kit, Whoa, Baby! Not just in my head. My wife didn't know I was doing the change-over (she'd think I was crazy for spending that much money again for another set of wires! ) But after installing the GroundingGear, she asked what I did with the car which she usually never makes comment on (except when I did a couple of noise-maker mods). She said she felt the improvement right away!

I'm just sorry I handed Sun and Stillen my hard earned cash prior to contacting Gord. Small businesses like his deserve the support over the mass marketers that try to go on name alone rather than actual improvement of a product.

Do a search and you are likely to find that the Z-Tube/KN combo is a good bet. It retains the low end torque, but allows for some good throttle response and sound improvement. Some will say some power gains as well. I have to agree.
