Before anyone asks, yes I have searched. No I do not think it's the fuel damper as the line feels fine (no pulsing) and it appears to be coming from driver side of the engine. Also, did the screwdriver to ear thing and it also doesn't sound like its any of the coils, although I couldn't quite reach cyl # 6. This ticking started around 3 days ago, and sometimes it is very faint, and other times it is loud like in the video. Just changed my oil to Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 with a Purolator BOSS filter less than 200 miles ago. Some people have suggested a loud / bad injector, but to me it sounds too consistent and mechanical to be an injector. Also, the tick increases in speed with RPM's. Car feels normal and drives fine. Any insight at all would be appreciated.

 

98% sure it's a lifter tick. how low are you on oil

 

Oil is topped up, just put 5 quarts in like 2 weeks ago and I just checked it so I know its fine. People have told me that Pennzoil Plat isn't good in our cars, but I'm not sure if that would cause the problem. This morning it was very loud and audible, but after work at around 3 there was no ticking. It isn't an every drive problem, but it is there and it bothers me.

 

How many miles are on your car..? Most definitely sounds like a lifter tick...
