how do you know that it's leaking, is it dripping under the car?

yes, it is. As a matter of fact, i can see green fluid in my engine bay. Also, there is a river of fluid coming out of my car. Good news though guys, I got word from Doug and it does seem that some of the plenums have this issue. Since then, they have provided silicone to the fittings because that is where the leak is coming from.

I still dont understand why does the plenum causes the coolant to leak? is there a hose or something that is torn during the installation?
Imalaz, can you post pics of your engine bay so that we can see where's the leak coming from. Thanks..

Did Doug say anything about when they started using silicone on the fittings? I received one fo the first ones to go out the door. Haven't installed it yet (maybe a good thing at this point).

the leak as mentioned before is coming from the fittings attached to the plenum. All you have to do is remove the fittings and apply some silicone or "lock-tite" or whatever it's called to seal the thread. Then you should be good to go. As for me, he offered me a new one, so I just took that instead. He did not mention when he first started using silicone, or maybe I just forgot. If you really want to know, then just email him i'm sure he'd let you know. If I were you, instead of going through the trouble of installing it to just find out, I would just check the fittings yourself. Or you can just call him and give your name and check to see if you have ones with the silicone.

lock-tite is used so that a bolt won't vibrate loose. it won't really do much for sealing. you should probably just use teflon tape, or liquid gasket maker (thread sealant).

Thanks to everyone for their understanding and cooperation on this coolant issue. We have only heard of 2-3 plenums leaking out of the 100+ we shipped out.

The problem was that the gasket material we used apparently did not cure properly and that is why we came up with the fix on our website:
http://www.crawfordzcar.com/ under SUPPORT (upper right on page).

If you received a plenum without a follow up phone call from us, that means your plenum was "fixed" prior to shipment to you and does not require your doing this fix.

We did call everyone else to make sure there were no issues on anyone's car in regard to this minor problem.

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR BUSINESS AND SUPPORT!

Thanks for being so forthcoming about the potential problems, and how to resolve it. Not many manufacturers will take the time to post to a bulletin board. Just another validation that my money went to the right place.

Thumbs up Professional attitude, 1st class!

Getting a phone call from Doug himself was quite a surprise. It wasn't until I got off the phone it hit me, this guy is a real pro. How often do you hear a manufacturer let alone the president call his customers to notify them of a minor problem? My hats off to you and you have my respect. Thanks!

Exactly. I developed this impression of Doug the first time I talked to him about 1-year ago. Since then he has only continued to impress me. Great guy, great company, FANTASTIC products!
